2026 - 2027 Calendar Changes
Dear Parents, Students, and Staff, As we continue preparing for another exciting school year, I
Dear Parents, Students, and Staff, As we continue preparing for another exciting school year, I want to share some important information regarding proposed changes to the 2026-2027 school calendar. At its committee meeting on July 6, 2026, the C-FC School Board discussed several calendar adjustments for the upcoming school year. These proposed changes will be presented for approval at the School Board meeting on July 20, 2026. The proposed adjustments are necessary due to the ongoing referendum construction project, the additional time staff will need to prepare classrooms for students, and our commitment to providing the best possible learning environment for both students and staff. The proposed changes include:
Moving the District Open House and School Picture Day from August 20 to September 16.
Eliminating the Kickoff Instruction Days that were previously scheduled for August.
Moving Staff Development to the last week of August and September 1.
Changing the first day of in-person instruction to Wednesday, September 2.
Scheduling Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday evening and Friday morning during both the October and March conference periods.
A copy of the proposed calendar changes can be found on the calendar page of the district website. We understand that changes to the school calendar may require families and staff to adjust plans. By sharing this information now, we hope to provide everyone with additional time to make any necessary arrangements. We sincerely appreciate your flexibility, understanding, and continued support as we work through the final stages of our construction project and prepare our school for another successful year. These adjustments are being made with the goal of ensuring our staff has adequate time to prepare outstanding learning spaces and that our students begin the school year in the best possible environment. If you have any questions regarding these proposed changes, please do not hesitate to contact me by phone or email. Thank you for your continued partnership and support of the C-FC School District. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for another great school year.
Sincerely, Troy White, Superintendent Cochrane - Fountain City School District 608-687-7771 twhite@cfc.k12.wi.us

Volunteer in Our School
C-FC encourages parents and adults to volunteer in our schools. To assist you and to maintain a safe and orderly environment for our students, we have created the C-FC Volunteer Handbook. All volunteers are required to obtain a copy of the Volunteer Handbook from the office, complete a School Volunteer Registration Form and pass a background check. Once these steps have been completed, we welcome you to volunteer at C-FC.
