WHO ARE WE: The Pirate Booster Club exists for the purpose of broadening the involvement of students, their families, the community, and the school in the support of interscholastic athletic programs. The Booster Club works to achieve this purpose by promoting active participation in Booster Club activities by parents, students, and alumni and by providing concentrated support for individual sports. In doing so, the Booster Club works closely with coaches and school administration.
The mission of the club is
a.) To promote athletics at C-FC School in an atmosphere that is consistent with the educational philosophy of the school community.
b.) To promote and encourage better attendance and positive sportsmanship at all sports activities by parents, students, faculty, and the community.
c.) To promote and encourage more students to get involved in athletics, either as an active participant or in a supportive role such as statistician, manager, or similar role.
WHAT DO WE DO: The Pirate Booster Club has provided funds that have been used for the benefit of the athletic programs. Some recent examples include the following:
* Senior athlete posters
* Pirate fence cup sign
* Padded logo chairs for basketball/volleyball games
* College scholarships through a competitive application process
* Sports equipment, such as basketball cart, softball pitching machine, wrestling mat, and weight room equipment
* College scholarships through a competitive application process.
HOW WE DO IT:
* Activities: The Pirate Booster Club raises funds through the sale of concessions at high school athletic events, Pot of Gold (50/50) ticket sales, and other fundraisers, such as coupon cards or merchandise sales.
* Meetings: Booster Club meetings are currently held quarterly. Discussion at meetings includes consideration of funding requests for various projects, status updates on ongoing projects which have been funded, and a review of fundraising activities.
HOW YOU CAN HELP: The Pirate Booster Club would love to have input and involvement from new members, especially parents of athletes - but no one will be turned away! Even if you are not interested in assuming a role on the board, fresh ideas, and perspectives, and input into funding decisions are welcome. And if you simply want to volunteer to help work concessions or another event, that's fine too.
