Cochrane-Fountain City Elementary School serves about 275 students in grades K4-6. Parents and community members identify small class sizes, great facilities, diverse extracurricular activities, and staff relationships with students and families as strengths of the C-FC School District. The phone app can be downloaded by students, families and community members, to stay informed and get easy access to the latest news, food menus, school and sports event calendars, teacher phone and emails, school forms (at the doctor's office and need a form?) and more! Calling all future Pirates! We look forward to seeing you at our 3K & 4K Registration Night on Tuesday, March 3. Watch for Registration Packets coming to your mailboxes soon!
All children eligible for 3K & 4K for the 2026-2027 school year should plan to attend. We will go over specifics about our programs, answer questions, tour the classrooms, and have a dinner available. The children will have some play time and meet new friends while parents visit with the teachers. Vision and hearing screening will also be provided during this event.
Sessions Available:
4:00-5:30 p.m. OR 6:00-7:30 p.m.
Dinner served 5:30-6:00 p.m.

An Engagement Lab aligns with our vision for innovative Tier 1 instruction and supports the Department of Public Instruction’s #1 priority of innovative education.
This project will transform a traditional C-FC Elementary learning space into an interactive environment that brings lessons to life, making C-FC Elementary the first school in Wisconsin to have its own Engagement Lab. Read more about the project.

The Treasure Trove Giving Circle will match all donations dollar for dollar, up to $15,000.

Mr. Nelson Named WI VFW Elementary Teacher of the Year

Congrats to C-FC Phy Ed Teacher Timothy R. Nelson for being selected as the Wisconsin VFW's Elementary Teacher of the Year!
Selected and sponsored by Cochrane-Buffalo City VFW Post 10406, Mr. Nelson will now advance to the VFW National Teacher of the Year competition, where he will compete against winners from the 52 VFW Departments representing all 50 states, Washington, D.C., U.S. territories, and overseas VFW regions.
Mr. Nelson will be formally honored and presented his award on Feb. 7 in Appleton at the 2026 Mid-Winter Conference Awards Banquet of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Department of Wisconsin, and its Auxiliary.
He will be honored alongside the Middle School and High School First Place Teacher of the Year winners and the VFW Wisconsin Voice of Democracy and Patriot’s Pen State Champions. This prestigious honor is part of the Smart/Maher VFW National Citizenship Education Teacher Award, officially recognized and supported by both the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the VFW Auxiliary as part of their Americanism and youth-education programs.

Please join us for our Cochrane Fountain City High School Scholarship Blood Drive on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 from 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
One donation, one hour of your time will ensure patients continue to receive lifesaving blood for weeks to come — PLUS help earn scholarship rewards for our student volunteers. All donors will get a $20 Amazon.com gift card via email, but the feeling you’ll leave with is priceless.

Elementary yearbooks are available for purchase online through Jostens. January 23, 2026 is the last day to add name personalization and icons to your book. For orders after that date name and icons will not be accepted as final yearbook orders are due by February 27, 2026. Cost of the yearbooks is $12 and signature package is $30.60.

Students are not to be in the building prior to 7:30. Students who do arrive prior to 7:30 will remain outside the building.

Volunteer in Our School
C-FC encourages parents and adults to volunteer in our schools. To assist you and to maintain a safe and orderly environment for our students, we have created the C-FC Volunteer Handbook. All volunteers are required to obtain a copy of the Volunteer Handbook from the office, complete a School Volunteer Registration Form and pass a background check. Once these steps have been completed, we welcome you to volunteer at C-FC.
